This perfumed, fruity honey comes from the southern rainforest regions, where the bees thrive on the dense canopy of white ivy like flowers of the Getame tree. The honey is heavy with pollen, giving an earthy undertone, and is produced from hives made of logs, baskets, grass and other freely available local materials placed high up in the forest canopy. This is the first honey to be exported from Ethiopia and the trade has revitalized these village economies.
